The work of TUNAWEZA is characterized by the attitude that people with disabilities have talents and strengths which need to be discovered and developed. New chances of development open up where talents and given resources are put in the foreground instead of impairments and deficits. Within a two year training program the students are able to have work experiences in different areas before they specialize in one field suitable with their interests and abilities. TUNAWEZA offers young people with disabilities after their graduation from school or from the age of 14 if a school visit was not possible, the chance to widen their social and true-to-life abilities and to gain vocational skills. The priority is for them to achieve the highest possible degree in self-sufficiency and self-determination.
Vision: To help young people with disabilities to fulfill their potential and become not only adults who contribute to society, but independent and self-reliable individuals.
